Common questions
What's the difference between Starter and Pro?
Starter is the dashboard plus manual CSV uploads — perfect if you just want one place to see your numbers. Pro adds Beacon AI (the morning briefing), the automated OAuth syncs so you don't have to upload anything yourself, scheduled daily digests, and advisor seats (your accountant or consultant gets read-only access).
Do you charge per user?
No. One price per practice, unlimited team seats. Pro adds advisor seats (your accountant, consultant) at no extra cost.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days of Beacon Pro, no credit card required to start. When the trial ends you pick a plan (Starter $129/mo or Pro $299/mo) and enter your card via Stripe's hosted checkout. Cancel any time before then with no charge.
Monthly or annual?
Both. Annual is two months free — $1,290/year for Starter (vs $1,548 monthly) and $2,990/year for Pro (vs $3,588 monthly). Switch between monthly and annual any time from the Stripe Customer Portal in Settings.
How does billing work?
Self-serve via Stripe. After the trial you enter your card on Stripe's hosted checkout; recurring charges, plan switches, payment-method updates, invoice downloads, and cancellation all happen through the Stripe Customer Portal we link from Settings. Prefer to be invoiced directly? Email us and we'll set up a manual-invoice arrangement (ACH or check) — happy to accommodate for any practice that prefers it.
What about HIPAA?
Beacon never stores patient identifiers. The PHI sanitizer runs before any data lands in the database — only aggregates are persisted. We'll sign a BAA with you on the Pro tier. See our Security page for the full posture.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Month-to-month, no annual commitment (annual plans cancel at the end of your prepaid year). You keep access through the end of the billing period when you cancel. Your data is preserved if you resubscribe later.
